The Avila Beach Golf Resort is the most well known of the Central Coast Golf Courses, and a wholly-unique golf experience for each of our guests. Designed by Olin Dutra and Desmond Muirhead and opened for play in 1969, we are located 3 miles off Highway 101 south of San Luis Obispo and northwest of Pismo Beach. Nestled in the surrounding hills and on the bay, the resort includes a par 71, 6500-yard championship course, extensive beautiful event facilities and a neighborhood bar that also serves tasty sandwiches.

The golf course has kikuyu grass fairways (think Riviera CC) and quick, classic bentgrass greens. The front nine is situated on hilly terrain with small, often-elevated, smooth greens within oak-lined valleys. The back nine transverses a tidal estuary, with several forced carries over water and multi-level greens to test your will and your skill. Golfers of all abilities will enjoy the challenge of this scenic course.

Be sure to visit the many area attractions, including the beach town of Avila Beach with its quaint restaurants, family beaches and deep sea fishing. 10 minutes away is San Luis Obispo which offers unique downtown shopping, the famous Madonna Inn, and Cal Poly State University. Pismo Beach, just 3 miles southeast, offers more miles of beaches, camping, outlet shopping, and the Oceano Dunes recreational vehicle park. Traveling northwest will take you to the wharf at Morro Bay, the incredible Hearst Castle, and wine country.
